Way Way before my time here in Monessen, Pa there was a theater called The Manos Theater. The first movie they ever played was Red River with John Wayne, and I guess it was a big deal.
Here at the Monessen Heritage Museum it was decided there would be a Manos Theater display. So we obtained old usher jackets that were just torn to shreds. So it was my job to make a coat out of all the other coats. It was a lot of fun but hard work, I kind of missed sewing I guess.
Here are the photos of what I had to deal with and the end process.

More photos and finished coat at the end.

And the finished coat.

very cool. actually red river valley was not the first movie ever played there. it was the first movie played after the grand reopening and remodel of the place. My grandfather worked as the projectionest from the first day it opened until it closed.
